The number of unemployed
in the USA at the end of April 2009 was 13.7 million or 8.9%. At the same time the job openings stood at approximately
3 million. The unemployment rate in Canada was 8.0% or 1.46 million. (The number of job openings is not published by Statistics
Canada).
